We promote that family abuse NOT be a "taboo" topic and that we all have a moral responsibility to call out and report abuse and support a victim applying our "3R's".
These simple "3R's" can be a significant step in the primary prevention of any form of abuse and violence to women, men, children and elderly of any global community:
Rotary SAFE Families was acknowledged as a Rotary 100 Year Centenary project in 2021 in Zone 8 and supported by Rotary Foundation Australia.
Dorothy Gilmour has vast experience and professional, academic history in Social Sciences including human behaviours and challenges of specialised groups.
Her main practice was in the area of trauma, loss, grief, mediation and suicide prevention for individuals, parents and families and included debriefing after a critical incident in workplaces and post community disasters. Her services included years of University lecturing in Masters programmes of Psychology, Social Science and Family Therapy.
Dorothy remains an advocate for social justice and fairness for those less fortunate. She is determined for everyday people to be part of the solution in the prevention of family violence and elder abuse across the world.”

Those present were moved into breakout sessions and asked to consider what attracted them to our club, and how can we keep our new members engaged. Here is the feedback based on our breakout room discussion.
The Dambana School Project has delivered progressive changes to the Dambana school and its surrounding community while supporting the preservation of cultural heritage. Through a series of impactful initiatives, the project has addressed important educational and community needs, ensuring long-term benefits for students, teachers, and villagers.
A major achievement is the provision of a reliable water supply to the school. For 35 years, the school operated without running water that greatly impacted students daily lives. The new water system benefits both the school and the community, with a dedicated outlet for local villagers to collect water. This vital resource fosters a stronger bond between the school and its community.
Clean water and good sanitation are two of the cornerstones of a healthy community. There is no need so basic as having clean water to drink, but over half the population of Cambodia does not have access to clean water. In the countryside, most people rely on water from rivers, streams and ponds. This water is often polluted and is a major cause of health issues in children.
The lack of sanitary toilets exacerbates the water problems. Nearly 70% of Cambodia’s rural population have no toilet.
In a nutshell it is a huge interactive library of community and academic resources that can be accessed without internet. Yes, NO internet!!
Why is it needed
In many rural villages in developing countries there is no internet, and even in places where there is internet it may be unreliable, or the cost limits people’s use. Teacher in a Box has a huge positive impact where there are limited teaching resources or teachers with limited training or education themselves. Our Teacher in a Box servers support self-paced learning as well as classroom teaching.
Thanks to the amazing generosity and efforts of not-for-profit educational software developers, our own computer donors and our volunteer workers, we are able to supply Teacher in a Box pre-loaded with a huge range of quality educational and training materials at minimal cost.
