About SecondBite

SecondBite is a national food relief charity, ensuring good food doesn’t go to waste while people go hungry. For more than 20 years, we have rescued surplus food from growers, manufacturers and retailers, distributing it freely to charities and community groups across Australia — turning what’s wasted into what’s needed.

Delivering more food relief, together

Since 2024, SecondBite and FareShare have come together as one organisation to deliver more food relief across Australia. Through our nationwide food rescue network, we provide fresh produce and pantry staples to charities and community groups — and where ingredients need to be transformed into nutritious, ready-to-eat meals, our FareShare kitchens provide that capability. Together, we feed more than 700,000 Australians every week.

About Moira Food Share

At Moira FoodShare, we believe access to fresh, nutritious food is a basic human right.

What began in Yarrawonga more than twenty-five years ago has grown into one of the largest rural food-relief networks in Victoria and New South Wales, now supporting over 5,000 people every month across northern Victoria and southern NSW.

Working with 49+ community partners — including community houses, neighbourhood centres, schools, churches and volunteer-run hubs we ensure food support is always local and close to home.

Our network now reaches 29 rural and remote towns, from Cobram and Yarrawonga to Finley, Berrigan, Barmah, Nathalia, Numurkah, Tungamah and Tocumwal.

Thanks to the generosity of local donors, farmers, supermarkets and more than 70 volunteers, in the past year we have:

  • Distributed 173,097 kg of food — over 200,000 meals
  • Delivered $7.4 million in social impact back into our region

We focus on providing healthy, culturally appropriate and easy-to-prepare foods, ensuring every household can eat well with dignity.
