Highlights of our meeting.

We were honored to hear guest speaker, Kellie Kadaoui from the Hive Rotary Club in Albury, joined by Sarah Long, shared the inspiring “Paying it Forward” initiative. This project sends young people on four trips each year to places like East Arnhem Land, Fiji, and Vanuatu, fostering leadership and community service. You can read more at hiverotaryclub.com.au.
Following their presentation, a small group of our eClub members has now formed to plan a “Paying it Forward” trip, complementing our ongoing work in Sri Lanka.

Sausages all round in May 2025

Our Bunnings sausage sizzle on May 18 was a great success, with sunny skies and plenty of foot traffic outside Bunnings in Wangaratta. We managed to sell out of the recommended quantities of sausages and drinks, thanks to the hard work of our enthusiastic volunteers and the support of the local community.
Hot on the heels of this event, we fired up the barbecue again for the Lancefield Farmers Market on May 24. Once again, the weather was kind, and the aroma of sizzling sausages drew in plenty of hungry visitors. These events are not only great fundraisers, but also fantastic opportunities for us to connect with the community.

SHARE Project Update

Exciting progress is underway as we prepare our first shipment to Fiji! Jenny’s recent visit ensured everything is ready to go, and we’ve been thrilled to receive an outpouring of equipment and supplies offers. Our list of potential projects keeps growing by the week, and we’re eager to make a real difference.

As we move forward with registering SHARE as a RAWCS project under the Change Makers club, your support is more important than ever.

Join us for our monthly working bee at the SHARE shed in Broadford (29 Mollison Street) on May 31.

We’d love to see you there and get you involved in this rewarding project!

Take me there! >>

An Epic Day of Service

The EPIC Day of Service is a worldwide Rotary effort that brings Rotarians and community members together for a day of meaningful projects. This year’s event, on May 17, 2025, offered a range of service opportunities, from environmental conservation to community improvement, inspiring a wave of kindness and change.

At the Beechworth Chinese Garden, four Rotary members worked for 3.5 hours on two garden sections, reinforcing its cultural and environmental value. We capped it off with a team lunch and reflection on the impact we made. The next day, five members continued the spirit of service with a 2-hour Bunnings BBQ shift in Wangaratta.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in, your efforts truly embody Rotary’s mission of creating lasting change.
