RAWCS Presentation

Our guest speaker was club member Jenny Foster, who delivered an engaging and informative presentation on RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Service). She was joined by David Clark, a former RAWCS Board member, and Peter Elias, the District 9790 RAWCS representative. Together, they provided valuable insight into how RAWCS supports international aid and development projects, particularly relevant given our club’s active involvement in global initiatives.

Fundraising efforts and warm wishes

The meeting began with a friendly social chat and concluded with club updates on fundraising and other activities. We send our warmest wishes to Pieter Seibel, who is currently in hospital in Sri Lanka.

SHARE Project Day, Broadford Victoria, 26th July 2025

Despite the cold and wet weather, 19 dedicated volunteers gathered at The SHARE Project Warehouse in Broadford for our monthly working bee. Together, we sorted and packed medical and dental supplies, children’s clothing, and beautiful hand-knitted winter wear kindly donated by the CWA.
We were privileged to work alongside volunteers from PNG, Vanuatu, and Fiji, who offered valuable insight into the needs of their communities, many of the packed items will soon be shipped to these regions.

Rtn Robyn Jones Leads English Program in Sri Lanka

Rtn Robyn Jones recently travelled to Dambana Primary School, Sri Lanka, to lead a three-day English teaching program, supported by the Rotary E-Club of Change Makers Australia, Rotary Club of Badulla, and Rotaract Club of Uva Wellassa University.
Robyn’s engaging, activity-based lessons inspired students and staff alike. The project also delivered English resources, a 30-computer lab, and laid the groundwork for ongoing online support and future scholarship opportunities.

A fantastic example of Rotary making a lasting impact through education!
