November Lunch Function
 
Rtn Pieter Siebel will host a lunch function in November, likely on Saturday the 8th. Members are encouraged to support the event.
 
 

Zone Convention

President Rtn Susan Benedyka will attend the Rotary Zone 8 Conference on the Gold Coast from October 31st to November 2nd.

 

Insurance & Risk Management

Guest speaker PDG David McPherson outlined Rotary’s insurance policies, including public liability, personal accident, property, and association liability. He stressed timely reporting of activities, risk assessments, and child-safe checks. Rotary insurance does not cover cybercrime.

 

Sri Lanka Projects
 
Progress continues with computers released from customs and the dictionary project due April next year. Pieter welcomed Sophie Enders to help with project management. Krishantha gained special government approval to continue supplying computers to schools and universities.
 
 
Youth & Events
 
Two students will attend RYPEN camp; ex-RYLA Will Fuler was recognised at a youth event.
 
 
Project Updates
 
Kilmore Peace Arboretum - awaiting management committee confirmation.
 
Cambodia Project - delays due to heavy rain, but rice/fruit distributions and award recognition achieved.
 
Teacher in a Box - presentation delivered to PNG dignitaries and new collaboration with QUT.
 
Share Project - confirmed to operate under RAWCS while maintaining its identity.

Rotary Youth Protection Awareness (YPA) Training
 
All Rotarians and volunteers involved in youth programs (e.g. Youth Exchange, RYLA, RYPEN) must complete the mandatory online Youth Protection Awareness Training. The course ensures we create a safe environment for young people and comply with Rotary’s youth protection policies.
