Virtual Vocational Exchange Project
Apr 16, 2026 8:00 pm
User-centric, Community-driven Virtual Vocational Exchange Rotary International District 3450 (Hong Kong) has initiated a new form of virtual exchange – VVE Plus – where Rotarians/ Rotaractors/ Interactors may initiate an exchange by forming a community and all exchange activities are self-initiated. A pilot community has been initiated by PDG Kenneth Wong, and Rotarians from Hong Kong, Kampala (Uganda), London, Manila, Melbourne and Singapore joined the pilot community. The first exchange session was held on March 7, 2024 and we have since organized 3 sharing sessions. PDG Kenneth Wong has been instrumental in getting this program launched and operating around the world. We are exploring possibilities where Change Makers can get involved. |

Jun 25, 2026 8:00 pm
Our guest speaker is John Roberson from RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Service) John is the National Projects and Volunteers Manager of RAWCS. Our involvement with RAWCS stems from three of our projects, Teacher in a Box, SHARE and Safe Haven Medical Outreach, now being integrated with this organisation. John will highlight all of the advantages of projects being listed with RAWCS. One advantage of being under the governance of RAWCS is that Teacher in a Box, SHARE and Safe Haven now have tax deductability status. Upholding human rights principles is fundamental to all aspects of RAWCS operations. RAWCS are dedicated to respecting, protecting, and promoting human rights for all individuals, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, indigeneity, disability, age, displacement, caste, gender, gender identity, sexuality, sexual orientation, poverty, class, or socio-economic status. RAWCS is dedicated to eliminating racial injustice and promoting an ongoing process of healing and reconciliation. Embedded within our core values of Service, Leadership, Diversity, Integrity, and Fellowship is a commitment to integrating human rights considerations throughout our projects’ development, implementation, and assessment phases. The District Governor of each Australian Rotary District is a member of the RAWCS Company. This membership elects a Board of Directors to govern the company on their behalf. Second Bite & Moira Food Share
Sep 03, 2026 8:00 pm
About SecondBite SecondBite is a national food relief charity, ensuring good food doesn’t go to waste while people go hungry. For more than 20 years, we have rescued surplus food from growers, manufacturers and retailers, distributing it freely to charities and community groups across Australia — turning what’s wasted into what’s needed. Delivering more food relief, together Since 2024, SecondBite and FareShare have come together as one organisation to deliver more food relief across Australia. Through our nationwide food rescue network, we provide fresh produce and pantry staples to charities and community groups — and where ingredients need to be transformed into nutritious, ready-to-eat meals, our FareShare kitchens provide that capability. Together, we feed more than 700,000 Australians every week. About Moira Food Share At Moira FoodShare, we believe access to fresh, nutritious food is a basic human right. What began in Yarrawonga more than twenty-five years ago has grown into one of the largest rural food-relief networks in Victoria and New South Wales, now supporting over 5,000 people every month across northern Victoria and southern NSW. Working with 49+ community partners — including community houses, neighbourhood centres, schools, churches and volunteer-run hubs we ensure food support is always local and close to home. Our network now reaches 29 rural and remote towns, from Cobram and Yarrawonga to Finley, Berrigan, Barmah, Nathalia, Numurkah, Tungamah and Tocumwal. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, farmers, supermarkets and more than 70 volunteers, in the past year we have:
We focus on providing healthy, culturally appropriate and easy-to-prepare foods, ensuring every household can eat well with dignity. |

Sep 05, 2026 - Sep 06, 2026
We have two attendees, Lucy Wilkinson and Rendi Moke junior. The ConceptRYPEN has as its principal aim, to communicate to young people taking part in the program, a series of ideas, problems and social experiences which will assist them in forming their own values and moral standards and allow them to broaden their horizons culturally, socially and academically. Nothing is forced upon the young people - they are free to discuss and interpret what they experience and above all, they are not patronised by the Rotarians or Leaders who are involved in running the seminar.
![]() The RYPEN seminar will be conducted by a Rotarian experienced in youth work and leadership camps and will be assisted by a team of youth leaders (female/male) who are or have been involved in other Youth Training Programs (ie. Rotaract, RYLA, Youth Work). The Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp provides very good facilities for students and leaders and has dormitory style sleeping quarters for female/male attendees.
RYPEN in our District is designed to provide an enriching program for young people in the age groups covered by Years 9 & 10. It is centered on a weekend residential seminar where the young people are involved in an intense learning and social experience. The program is challenging to young people as it is focused on activities that will increase their self-esteem and leadership skills as well as allowing opportunities for them to think about understanding themselves and how they relate to others. Those attending should have a basic level of physical fitness, as parts of the program that the participants will become involved in, will include outdoor sessions that require them to work as a group, as well as being individually challenged.
![]() To facilitate the learning at a RYPEN seminar, a balance is struck between work and play, between formal learning situations and social activities. Everything done at the seminar is closely planned to contribute, in a positive way, to the total experience.
A very important part of the concept is that those chosen to participate should be prepared to strive for and attempt all activities that will be offered to them at the seminar. To accept the offer to participate in the seminar is the commencement of the positive nature of the seminar. RYPEN seeks to help those who, with guidance and encouragement, can achieve their latent potential. Rotary is striving to build on the qualities that the young people selected for the seminar have already shown, i.e. perseverance, steadfastness, honesty and decency in order that they can benefit from this experience.
The job of selecting the seminar participants is up to each Secondary College invited to participate and a Rotary Club then sponsors those selected. The College's Student Welfare Teacher/Year 9 & 10 Coordinator's should be able to ensure that the student/s selected are within the guidelines and will benefit from the experience. The seminar is restricted to 40 students on a first come basis. Application forms are available from the District Committee or from this website. (See Menu Box) The basic philosophy of RYPEN is that stimulus and individual enrichment, comes from the group ethos developed by the seminar team, which causes a sense of pride and unity to be developed in the participants, thus achieving the aims of the program. Chair: District RYPEN Program
